These pages are the starting point for any content that does not fit into the existing schema. They are useful to create general information pages, one-off page types, or when paired with layouts, a useful content type to display a page not deliver in the original schema.
Adding a new Basic Page
- To add a new Basic Page, visit the Content Tab.
- Next, click the "+Add content" button, and then choose the "Basic Page" content type.
- Fill out the page fields as described below:
- TITLE: Add a page Title. This will appear at the top of the page.
- Parent Entity: This describes the page that this content should be under or associated with. It also helps establish the breadcrumbs seen in the the url.
- Banner Image: Try and stay between 500 bytes and 2mb. You also want to make sure that the image you want to use fits this content type. Think skyline and not bio photo as the image goes horizontally across the page.
- From here you can add multiple different blocks and design the page to your liking.
- Once these fields are all filled out, hit the "Save" button at the top of the page to save the page. This page will be available to be linked to on the site when the site rebuilds. You can also hit the build button so that the pipeline triggers immediately. This does not mean that the page will populate immediately as the pipeline process typically takes a few minutes.
Editing a Basic Page
- To find an existing Basic Page to edit, visit the Content Tab.
- Next, search for the page by name in the "Title" search bar, or you can choose "Basic Page" in the Content type filter to narrow your choices. Hit "Filter.
- Once you have found your page, click on the title, and then click Edit.
- Make the changes you want on the page, and then click the "Save" button at the top.
- Your changes will be live on the site when the build is complete.
Adding the Page to Navigation
Only Site Managers and Administrators can add a page to the site navigation.
- The site manager can also add this page directly from the Menu page under the "Structure" tab.
Removing a Basic Page
Site pages can be removed from the website by unpublishing them, unlinking them from navigation or deleting them altogether.
